The National Tourist Office of Madagascar (ONTM) conducted a roadshow in Europe during the last week of January in order to promote the Madagascar destination. It was a huge success according to the promoters. In fact, 143 travel agents and journalists answered the appointments given by the ONTM. as well as ten Malagasy travel agencies participated actively. The Malagasy delegation thus made a roadshow in three German cities, namely, Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt, from 22 to 24 January. Then, another roadshow took place in four cities of France from January 29th to 31st. These include Marseille, Lyon, Nantes and Paris.
Strengthen visibility. In Germany, 72 travel agencies were able to gather a lot of information about the destination Madagascar during these events. Among other things, they were able to discover the different tourist products presented by Malagasy professionals with the aim of attracting German tourists to come to the Big Island for their next holidays. In France, however, there were 71 tourism professionals, including travel agents and journalists. Note that many French tourism operators already know the destination Madagascar given the historical links between the two countries. This roadshow will thus enhance the visibility of the Big Island with this issuing market. The Malagasy tourism professionals, for their part, are sparing no effort to publicize the country’s new and more diversified offers, which are increasingly adapted to all categories of tourists wishing to travel to Madagascar.
Organized raffle. In addition, the National Tourist Office of Madagascar has organized various events as part of this roadshow to better attract many German and French travel agencies. As an illustration, a draw was organized in each city concerned. This allowed participants to win many prizes. These include Paris-Tana-Paris air tickets combined with a Tana-Tuléar-Tana domestic flight or a Tana-Morondava-Tana flight, as well as stays of more than two nights in Toliara, Nosy-Be. , Fort Dauphin or Morondava. You should know that this tour of information carried out by the ONTM in collaboration with these Malagasy tourism professionals and its partners, has for main objective to present the attractions of the destination Madagascar to the French and German travel agents. The offers of national airlines Air Madagascar and Tsaradia are not left out. It should be noted that the tour in Europe has received financial support from the European Union as part of its support program for the private sector in Madagascar, PROCOM or a project to support employment and regional integration .
